TO THE KOHELET COMMUNITY
I can’t tell you all how touched I was Saturday with the number of people who came early, the thoughtful comments you made, the lovely lunch and treats, and the
Ruach in the Sanctuary. I wrote a community thanks for its support when my father died, based on
Dayeynu, “it would have been enough.” This time, the theme should be “it would have been more than enough.” The reason is that this time you all gave me support for just doing the job I chose…..showing up on Saturday, encouraging and teaching community kids, helping services and Torah reading. These are things I love to do, and have grown to think of as my obligation, my particular contribution to the Kohelet project I have been in for almost 38 years, and, as I try to teach my students “worth doing for its own sake.” So, permitting me to do this job is reward enough; your support and affection is “more than enough. Thanks to each and all: the organizers (Bennett and Betty), the food contributions, the treat providers (Yum: Eliana), and most particularly, everyone who chose to spend such a nice and soulful Shabbat with me!

SIGN UP FOR THE SHABBATON
Reminder: It’s time to sign up for the Shabbaton! We are so lucky to have Ellyn Hutt as our guest speaker. With an overall theme of “Legacy,” Ellyn is preparing three d’var torahs and a Saturday afternoon discussion. Don’t miss it!
We also highly recommend our Saturday night gathering/Havdalah reception (July 27), featuring Jonathan Katz and his amazing photographs.

KOHELET LIBRARY DINNER FOR BARBARA BEISER
Fri., July 5
Barbara Beiser is about to start a new chapter in her life. Her house has sold, and she is moving to Tucson on or before July 18. We are using the Library Shabbat Dinner this Friday to say good-bye to her. Please come this Friday so we can wish her well. We will begin at 6:00 p.m. Friday, July 5 at Kohelet House.
This may need to become the "Dining Room Shabbat Dinner," if we have a large number, but that would be wonderful. Please RSVP to Misty at
davidson.misty@gmail.com and let me know what you wish to bring.
