SHABBATON ROUND-UP
This past weekend we had an amazing Shabbaton and had the privilege of listening to words of wisdom from Ellyn Hutt. Ellyn spoke in the parshat Pinchas and emphasized the concept of legacy--who we are and how our contributions will be remembered. In addition, we enjoyed a delicious Friday night dinner and Shabbat lunch. We ended with and art show featuring the photography of Jonathan Katz. Jonathan takes photos of lowly dumpsters. Through the use of lenses, filters, and computer technology, he transform these giant trash cans in monumental works of art. Jonathan would be happy to tell you more about his art if you ask him. This was truly a weekend to remember. |

CELEBRATION OF REPAIRS
Sat., Aug. 10
On Saturday, August 10, the Board will provide bagels and lox to celebrate the completion of the repairs to our building. If you have not seen our new and improved sanctuary, August 10 would be the perfect time to come. Our sanctuary is freshly painted, has new carpeting, and is actually a little bigger. This is because the unsightly defunct heat registers have been removed. The landscaping in the front has been given an upgraded as well. Help us celebrate our resilience, as we made "lemonade" out of the "lemon" that was handed to us. Kohelet will supply the main dish for our kiddish luncheon, but your additions of salads and desserts will be greatly appreciated. |

ARROW 3
You've probably read about the very successful field test of Israel's newest protective missile, the Arrow 3. Have you also seen that a mezzuzah was put up at the test facility in Alaska?
If not, there's a short video on the below site; plus, if you continue to scroll down, there are a host of other videos on the use of a mezzuzah.
Such a memorable combination of the oldest and newest.
